I went to Banham Zoo in August and met Akiko (before his move to Edinburgh) and Khal. Kulki had an enclosure behind the two public ones so he wasn’t viewable, and one of the keepers said that Yinto had been moved to another zoo, but I couldn’t find out where.
Khal spent most of the day high up in the tree in his enclosure, out of view. He seemed very happy to relax up there!

So they have 3 separate enclosures for manuls, right?

Yes, we must find Yinto!
That’s right, they have two enclosures near their snow leopards, and there’s apparently another one behind that’s not visible to the public. In August they were keeping all three manuls separate, and I think Kulki might have moved into the second public enclosure when Akiko went to Edinburgh.
Banham is a really great zoo – they’re clearly passionate about conservation and the welfare of all their animals. Unfortunately it’s quite difficult to get to by public transport, and they’ve had significant financial difficulties. I hope they can keep manuls for a long time to come!

Oh, I hope they will get some fundings or will improve their income flow.
That’s nice that they have 3 separate enclosures! That’s good for breeding time.
Do you have by any chance some photos of those enclosures?

I think it’ll be better to upload them on zoo’s page. Just leave “manul” fields empty and they will be attached just to the zoo.
I have some plans on redesigning zoo’ page to make it more … informative for a zoo visitor / photographer.
So eventually I’ll separate photos of enclosures into a separate scroller.

Done! I’ve also included a couple of photos of the signs on the enclosures to show how the manuls are introduced by Banham.
