Hooray! Higashiyama Zoo has announced the kittens’ sexes: all three are fluffy little boys! 
Zoo also announced a naming contest for the kittens, which will start on September 2.

I need someone who can read Japanese because the middle name for the second group of suggestions is coming up for me as “cushion”, ie something soft to sit on, and I can’t tell if it’s a Japanese word that Google is translating as “cushion” (despite all of the other name options coming up as Romanized Japanese for me rather than translations) or if they’re actually offering the English word “cushion” as a name, which would sound very, very silly to me. Pallas cats are not for sitting on!

Thank you! I guess Kushon is probably cute but knowing it’s just Cushion is definitely gonna ruin it for me. Manuls might stand on their own tails, but somehow I don’t think they’d like being sat on!
