In the beginning of 2022, I saw a lovely cat meme in a WeChat group. I found this cat is extremely fat but cute so that I saved and have been using it very often. Then one time, one of my friends told me it’s “not a cat” but a pallas’ cat. She thought it’s Sun Simiao because he was famous in China and just died accidentally at that time. Now I know this meme is lengendary Zelenogorsk puting paws on the tail and he is not fat but round. Although my friend didn’t tell the correct name of it, I began to search manul information on the net and met manulization channel on weibo.
I think memes are very powerful to get people know about this species, but they hide many information such as which the manul is and who takes the photo. So can we post manul memes here to ask the detail behind them and say thank you to the person who takes these photos?
“Taking off glasses” strategy doesn’t work every time. I give this a try but find nearly nothing.
I guess there’re three words. The middle one ends with “TOWN” and the last one end with “TV”. Not very sure about that. Hope someone can figure it out only by facial features.

It’s interesting; I’ve been to that zoo (it’s the closest one to me with manuls) but the enclosure when I was just there was an outdoor one with the indoor area not visible to the public (which was tragic because it was raining that day so nobody was out and I missed seeing manuls ). This one looks entirely indoors. I guess they’ve made some changes since Nicholas and Alexandra lived there! (The zoo was recently closed for over a year so maybe they made some changes then.)
