I’ve just watched the most recent upload from Konkaron’s channel and I thought I should share what I learned with you guys. The video is fully in Japanese, but you don’t need to understand a word to see the compilation of rising temperatures registered during summer 2024 per district, or notice the impact it has on animal comfort, health and overall quality of life. It’s upsetting to see our beloved manuls and other fuzzy friends panting, exhausted, suffering, but I’m glad to see people are starting to gather up to help them, and was even happier to hear that this wonderful organization, stabilished in December 2024, has already succeeded in achieving a goal for the first time!
Thank you for sharing! I had added Konkaron’s latest video to my “Watch Later” list the other day, and I thought it was the time to watch it when I found your post
And I donated to the “Zootomo no Wa Fund”
If anybody wants to know if they take international donations, mail to “support@zootomo.or.jp” .
I’m always happy to help spread Manul Gospel hahaha!
Also, I’m sure they might eventually open up to receive international donations if enough international manul fans reach out to them! Perhaps it might be the case to shoot an email to the address shared by @maeko_manul, although now I’m not sure about which language to use when mailing them…
That’s an interesting initiative I must say! @paplaacat thank you for sharing it with us!
As far as I understood this platform is like Kickstarter but for zoos?
I wish it was more organizations like in the world!
And yes! I truly hope they’ll inspire similar movements in other countries, or maybe expand and list projects from zoos outside of Japan in the future!
The representative Ms. Ujimoto (a.k.a. Fushigi Lion) has a YouTube channel and there are some comments in English. For example, this movie.
The channel owner puts a heart to the English comment, so I guess the organization accepts English emails. They can use translation app or something , anyway
